Blonde Death, 1984

James Baker

Controversial Queer writer James Baker (aka James Dillinger) made this notorious and outrageous feature-length film on VHS home video.

“Blonde Death” is about the tale of ‘Tammy the Teenage Time-Bomb’, a troubled teenaged daughter of Christian fundamentalists. Tammy teams up with a couple of bisexual escape cons and together, they wreck havoc throughout the Southland.

Big on satire, sexual questioning, and cartoon violence, “Blonde Death” was among the first video movies that reached a considerable audience. Created for around $1,000, this cult classic was acclaimed by the local press. LA Weekly proclaimed that they enjoyed the video more than those that cost a thousand times as much.
