Vertical Blanking
Shot and completely edited in one outrageous 24-hour period, this Hip Hop music video features rappers Fanta’C and Diesel.
During that 24-hour period, the artists began at a studio doing a faux recording session for one hour. They then quickly drove across town (in their matching corvettes) to meet friends at a factitious & unauthorized concert in Venice Beach. Shortly thereafter, they headed back to EZTV to shoot pick-up shots. The footage was edited overnight and express-mailed to Japan the next morning in order to meet a deadline for a possible gig there (they got the gig!).
This Hip Hop music video (with very early examples of twerking) is a classic example of Guerilla Videomaking and was discussed in the book "CyberArts: Exploring Art & Technology".
